also some people use blender and need an older version installed, you can have multiple version of python installed for just that purpose

Python is a very good software. It is especially useful for modding games like Battlefield 2.
It is a program for generating scripts, making scripts, or editing scripts of games.

But this is mostly for games.

This listed version above is 3.0.103, but the current stable version is 2.5.2, and in fact the download link above points to that version.

I believe the version 3 relates to alpha versions.
These are meant for developers, not end users!
First there is alpha, then beta, then the final release for the end user.
